Mommy & Me {Senatobia, MS Photography}

It's time for Mrs.Lauren and her two sweethearts on the blog! They were the only family I had for my Mommy & Me special. That makes me sad, because I think all mommies should have beautiful images with their babies. Maybe it was poor marketing on my part...I'm going to work harder on that, because I love what I do and I would absolutely hate to have to stop doing it.

We met at the park beside the library in Southaven, Mississippi for their session. It was a gorgeous day and we had a great time together. Thanks for coming out, Lauren, it was wonderful to see ya'll again! :)

The Banks House {Hernando, MS}

On a recent, gorgeous Saturday afternoon in April, nearly 20 members of the Desoto Camera Club met at the Banks House in Hernando for a tour of the 102 year old mansion. At the request of Vicky Neyman, the Executive Director for the Desoto Arts Council in Hernando, we all gathered together to photograph the current state of the home before the scheduled renovations begin. The DAC is planning to move into the 10,000 square foot building over the summer. This will be such an improvement over their current, cramped space. There is an article about the planned move in the Commercial Appeal, you can read that article here.

It is a beautiful old place and as someone who loves(!) historical old homes, I was very excited to be a part of the documentation with the Camera Club. Thanks so much for inviting us, Vicky. I can't wait to visit again after the move.

The porch floor is not discolored, I shot this through the screen door and the screen had some rips in it.

I realized after I arrived that my super wide angle lens was not in my bag, so sadly, I wasn't able to get full room views. I'm sure others in the group did, though. I believe I saw one person doing panoramas. All of my images were shot with natural light from the numerous, large windows.

Dallas & Jessica {Senatobia, MS Photographer}

My oldest son, Dallas, was home recently on a pre-deployment leave. He's in the Uninted States Marine Corps and will be going on his first deployment soon. It's always been super tough to get him in front of my camera in the past, so imagine my delight when he asked if I would take some photos of him and his girlfriend while he was home so that he could take them with him. I, of course, said absolutely! We had a great time hanging out in the alleys in town. :)

Be safe, son. I love you and I will see you again soon.
